  30. You usually get what you pay for...
  31. The most problematic issue is RELIABILITY of the whole system
  32. (modem+software) and VOICE QUALITY.
  33. Most modern 28.8 voice modems have poor voice quality. They tend to
  34. sacrifice voice quality for storage space (they use 4 bit, low rate
  35. sampling, etc). For good Voice quality we (and many happy users and
  36. developers) would recommend the NSC TYIN2000 and TYIN4000 DSP modems
  37. (a bit old but great Voice and FAX, albeit 14.4kbps max DATA). They
  38. deliver 8KHz, 8bit voice announcements, compared with 4800Hz, 4 bit
  39. popular today...
